Hunting Bears Written and Directed by Jason Ruddy, is a glimpse into the life of Andy who has suddenly become a carer for his older Brother Kenny. After a lifetime spent resisting responsibility, Andy is struggling to come to terms with his situation and makes one last attempt to re-connect. The Film stars Nathaniel Parker (Stardust, The Inspector Lynley Mysteries) and Joel Beckett (The Office, Green Street)
The film Won Best Film at IE Short Film Festival in Madrid, Won the Social Award at Miranda Tabu Film Festival in Spain, Won Best First Time Director at the Europe Short Film Festival and Won Best Short Film at Aarhus International Film Festival.
It was also an Official Selection at BAFTA Qualifying Cambridge Film Festival 2021, where it had it's UK premier, Kingston International Film Festival in London, Olhar Film Festival in Brazil and Meglio Matti che Corti (Better Crazy than Short) Film Festival in Italy.
UK Film Review critic Joe Beck gave Hunting Bears four stars, calling it "an excellent example of how to make a short film about a difficult subject, and fill it with heart and class in equal measure". The full article can be viewed here
